I have always envied Michelangelo. Not that I have met him but in my mind's eye, I see David standing in all his glory. His pectorals and abdominals intact and Mother Mary cradling her son frozen in time an ice princess. No one ever noticing the woman and the crows feet that hide beside her eyes. |

:: smiling:: someday... you will do me the honor perhaps of writing with me??? you end this well... and let the reader draw the underlying truths they would.. at my age..crowsfeet are not a detriment... just a fact we are still here... and not expected to be the perfection we once thought we had to be.. |

I remember visiting a museum and seeing this piece...I remember noting with some admiration the fact that Michelangelo had inscribed his name on Mary's sash...until I learned, much later, that he had done so in a fit of anger. Excellent work, Sue... |

Dear Sue, what a wonderful poem! Such deep, touching inspiration. You make me want to go and look closer ... Michelangelo's hands and mind were expressing Divine beauty. Love and hugs. Margherita |

Thanks guys . . . much appreciated from the all of you, I have never seen it in person . . . someday . . . Ron? the honor would be mine, sir. Are you kidding me? *smile* As for the crows feet, this came from noticing them on myself! (and yep, you crept into my brain with your thoughts up there) Kari? That added so much to what I was trying to convey. Margherita? Yes, indeed. Thanks again guys. |

unlike some of you crowsfeet enthusiasts up there, i'd lose mine in a heartbeat if i could, tho they fare better than the stretch marks this battleground tummy had to endure. anyhow - suzie, you have one amazing mind that goes places |

I'd love to see the painting in person. I know after reading this I'd definitely notice more. To me crows feet are just like an extension of the eyes, they add beauty and depth and life to a person. And if someone never gets those crows feet then I know the probably never really cared about anything or anybody. I loveee this poem! Always, Alyssa He was a man of sorrows |

No one ever noticing the woman and the crows feet that hide beside her eyes. Or that if she stood up she'd be a giant. John |

Before i die, at my current rate i'm not far off, I must see them. I think seeing the Sistine with my own eyes would be enough for me to leave this place fulfilled. But if i could squeeze in the other chapel, the Playboy mansions that would be swell too. |

Time is compassionate to all of us, when only stillness of our past is left-over. Something we find hard to see when the wheels are still turning. Hope convenes all of us when we're gone (as we know of it). Nice job here lw conveying the silent stillness of what we were and see now - to what we still are now. Very nice. wayne If nothing is something |

I remember only too well coming into this stage of my life, and then all to quickly moving on. You wear it well, and some advise, wear it proudly Suzie Q, as we earned every crow's foot on that map of us. Beautiful work. Example is not the main thing in influencing others, it is the only thing. |

a marvelous write I had the fortunate opportunity to see the Pieta' many years ago, while a child and I was shocked at how large it was....and absolutely, didn't notice the crows feet that hide behind her eyes. Beautiful write. |

Oh, how I long to return again to Rome to the Basilica di San Pietro and see this magnificent sculpture of the Pietá and to Florence to the Accademia Gallery to see David. I spent hours admiring these two works of art. Just by way of information, in 2002 restoration and cleaning began on David. A process that has not been done since 1873. How well you write of Mary's humanity. I enjoyed this immensely. hugs, Marti A single sunbeam is enough to drive away many shadows. –St. Francis of Assisi |
