Born in 'Old New England' richer than coq au vin where he'd change his preppy pom poms for the swagger of cowhand, like a scene from an old sitcom new found twang he would deadpan But George Bush is an honorable man His potential as a student you'd not find with a Catscan, academically not 'prudent' but the seed of a Big Man worries not of time misspent Oh, the life of a Dauphin! But George Bush is an honorable man When war makes rich kids nervous that they'll lose their lovely tans and the thought of giving service prompts an oozing of the glands they cry 'priviledge, please come serve us, we're no mere working man' But George Bush is an honorable man It was Daddy to the rescue, fossel fool found a bagman who was ordered 'Man it's best you keep our 'W' out of 'Nam' When the CIA requests you best believe to understand But George Bush is an honorable man In the homes of 50,000 poured the grief of honest tears but Ol' 'W' started carousin', partied hard for twenty years, it's a birthright that allows coke and hookers, endless beers But George Bush Is An Honorable Man Middle-age was time 'fer bidness' matters not that you're inept, for the spawn of the Noblesse the past is easily swept, so the wastrel shows success never open to discept But George Bush Is An Honorable Man Give him credit though, he found a very useful tool, He'd claim a Holy Ground rich with Hypochristian fools, just a vermin on the mound leading folks around like mules But George Bush Is An Honorable Man Texacutions and stock swindles, AWOL of vanished past, He'd still 'hook 'em' like a grindle for their eyes by now were glassed but the faith would never dwindle the role 'God's Messenger ' was cast But George Bush Is An Honorable Man 'War is peace', skies cleared of fresh air, a Middle -Class that won't long be there, Ol' Dixie States blood red but they don't care, Racists are forgiven with a prayer, Disagree they rachet up the scare (the terrorists, you know, are everywhere!) But George Bush Is An Honorable Man For those who do not profit from a war long pre-planned, who realize this no prophet But a Dragon of the Klan, we're about to lose our sushi Just like Daddy in Japan But George Bush Is An Honorable Man |

Thank you my friends. I've been paralyzed in angst then anger for months and unable to write and not wanting to cause hard feeling here in discussion forums have simply not participated. There is nothing less than democracy at stake on Tuesday. That Democrats are doing all they can to get out the vote and Republicans suppress it should be all people need to make a decision. By all means Alicia send it around, I'm flattered and could have made it ten stanzas longer and certainly refined it but.... Hopefully I'll be in a frame of mind to participate again in a place I've always found kind to me. |

'twas only a matter of time before you showed up, glad you put your mind to pen brilliant write, as usual, and hope it's true that hope is on the way with a change of face, change of pace for the human race (I should put that on a bumper sticker) may the best man win, and we happen to agree, it ain't that Texan [This message has been edited by Midnitesun (10-29-2004 09:27 PM).] |

This would make an amazing song - I can hear it set to a Beverly Hillbillies type of tune. I really enjoyed this. Hope everyone else on the site gets to as well. Abby |

Well, at least you made it a poem, and a good one....that's more than can be said for most of the polemic "verse" that makes it to this forum.... and nobody ever said that a poem has to have a grain of truth somewhere in it. ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

Now you are one voter who is really standing up to be counted! lol You've been holding out on us for far too long! I've been missing you! Correct me if I am wrong, but this is not what I'd call a song of praise for your current leader. lol To Light, Liberty and the American Way, A Canadian friend, Linda |

Midnitesun, Thanks, you and I have been onto these miscreants for quite awhile. I’ve posts in forum 23, almost two years old warning folks. Abbymatilda, Indeed. I suppose Mayberry Machiavellians would be too long a title. Martie, I’m not very subtle that’s for sure. Hope all is well. JulieAnn , Thank you for the notice. I’m hoping to celebrate our re-independence Tuesday night. JamesMichael, I could wright something about the courage of one who served with honor and returned to speak out against a war that time has proven to be wrong or even about Kerry’s chairmanship of the BCCI scandal uncovering malfeasance that did include many shaky Neocon connections. Aenimal, Thank you Sir. I’ll either bow Wednesday or bow out. Ratleader, Yes, I’ve rarely excluded truth from my posts. I didn’t this time either. Thanks. Wranx, Well done, well read Sir! Bbent, Merci! hoot_owl, God Bless America! Earth Angel, And you aren’t wrong this time either. I know Canadians and the whole world are holding their breath. I also know that Canada would welcome an exile of American liberals and progressives long before it would a Necon invasion. |

(STANDING OVATION!!!) Yay! This is wonderful, dearest friend, you both speak out your brave soul and reveal true heart and class in this wonderful conviction, yay! (angel friendship hugs) As you know, I'm not a Bush supporter (I voted kerry already! ) and denounce much of what he's done these past four years, particularly with the war, the environment and education, but because I am a Christian and believe in the virtues of forgiveness and turning the other cheek, I believe there is good in everybody and I believe in time I can forgive this man. The forgiveness process must begin with Bush, however, and when he finally admits his wrongs and makes penitence, I can begin to forgive him! (sad sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Richard, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "You'll find something that's enough to keep you But if the bright lights don't receive you You should turn yourself around and come back home" MB20 |

I live in Canada and a bunch of here think that it's time for the Bushes to be trimmed...the son and the father. So its time so many go get their voices heard especially young graduates who are disillusioned with the stay in power routine..at the cost of their future employment. |

Bush for baked beans -- not president! Welcome back, if even briefly, Richard -- you have been missed, and I applaud your courage, your talent, and your honesty. Unfortunately, the rabbit hole goes much deeper than Tuesday's facade and charade... -MVS You CAN make a difference, but first you should learn how: http://educate-yourself.org/intro.shtml |

"That Democrats are doing all they can to get out the vote and Republicans suppress it should be all people need to make a decision." By all means, let's not suppress the votes from deceased people. And let's not follow voting registration rules and procedures. (Even this poetry forum has rules. Perhaps we should ignore all rules everywhere). And let's physically show people which lever to pull, afterall, they don't have minds of their own. As to your poem, it was well written. |

Not enough of a Democratic rally... we all knew the hawks will try to tamper with the votes just as they did 4 years back...makes a mockery of the electoral system and how its run. In Canada there are so many who would like the change too. |

This is an absolutely brilliant write and I applaud it...as for me, I like the cowboy in the office, to say otherwise would but be cowardice on my part. |
