Pink Flight

it must have been
a delightful heart
it must have been
a bit of glee
in His creativity
perhaps an ounce
of comic relief
when He waved His
powerful hand
and divined
the pink flamingo

surely even Alice
could be none the happier
than to croquet away the day
pink flamingo mallet in hand
despite the pending doom
in the heart of the
Queen of Hearts

there’s always someone
attempting to mess
with the intent of joy
yet joy can still take wing
in the lift of a pink flight

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.
