You Cross My Mind By Larry Chadwick Remembering Ginger Michelle born 2-19-74 died 5-18-02
More than once you cross my mind each day, Which brings me peace and sometimes tears. And though it seems it happened only yesterday, Already it has been too many years.
More than once you cross my mind each day, Seldom are the thoughts without some pain. But almost always I find it worth the loss, For having you in my life was only gain.
More than once you cross my mind each day, Often it puts a smile upon my face. And occasionally it makes me giggle, Even though there is still an empty place.
More than once you cross my mind each day, Which makes it worth the rising from my bed. For then I anticipate the arrival of a memory, And face it without a thought of dread.
More than once you cross my mind each day, Grateful for the day that you were born. But never will I recover from the loss, Of the day from my hands you were torn.
February 8, 2005
If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Through you, we all came to know your lovely daughter in such a special way... The healing I see in you is a long and involved process...
but you're a rock for the rest of us, and if and when a day like yours comes to us, we will have strength and guidance in your words to see us through.

There never are, and never will be, any words that are strong enough, empty enough, full enough, glad enough, sad enough, or deep enough to say everything there is to say. But you write of her beautifully and I wish there were words that could somehow help ease the pain of the loss... She lives on in everything that you write, and in the way you live your life. And so, from that, I can see that she was an amazing girl. Hang in there, Larry.
Always, Alyssa

I can feel a relaxing of pain's intense grip in this write Larry...just enough distance from that sorrowful event, to allow the lost spice of your life to find her permanent resting place in your cupboard of memories. Hugging you, bro.

Larry, you keep Ginger's memory alive with your loving poetry. She too had a gift ~ she had you as a father. We take different forms ~ love takes different forms. But the love that you and Ginger had for each other will never die. It transcends all time and all space.
My daughter is about the same age as Ginger would have been. She too is s a teacher and had majored in English in University as well. I do not know if I mentioned this to you before, but my daughter one day started reading a poem of yours. She knew nothing of Ginger and that particular poem was not about her. She then said that she really liked the poem and that she felt a connection to the writer. I then told her about Ginger and her eyes welled up in tears.
You have a beautiful spirit, Larry C ~ just like your angel daughter...

Karilea dear friend, Your words and salve to the wounds of my heart. Seldom now do I cry, but never do I forget.
Jo, Thank you sweet lady, thank you.
Alyssa, Always you are wise beyond your years. There is great comfort in remembering. And remembering prevents me from forgetting the sorrow of the loss but cannot deny me the joy of her life.
Donna, Thank you dear girl. I find peace in the recall and comfort in your words.
Nancy Lee, And your hugs do indeed sustain me. Peace dear friend. If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Every now and then I think about you and your most beautiful daughter, Ginger Michelle, and I find it hard to believe that she has been gone for nearly three years. Your words cut deeply into my heart and I felt your pain and sorrow. As you would know, I could relate to each and every verse and I saw your kind and gentle heart in ever line. They say that time is the greatest of healers but I can't say that is true because I still miss my father so much and I take comfort in the thought that he guides my pen as I write.
For you :
"The best way to meet the loss of someone we love is by knowing that when we truly love, it is never lost. It is only after death that the depth of the bond is truly felt, and our loved one becomes more a part of us than was possible in life"
I hope these words bring you some comfort, as they have for me.
Take care my friend,

Thanks Linda...
Sue, And I too think of you and your dad. You do have such a tender heart and make him so proud. Personally I find time does indeed help to heal. The misnomer I find in loss is the belief that you will get over it. It seems to me an injustice to the memory of the one lost to desire to get over it. Rather I take great comfort in the remembering. Never have I been afraid of tears. Though they fall less often they still cleanse my heart. People speak of heartache in my words and I see only love. Perhaps we both have more to learn...
And thank you for your love and support. If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.
