It seems a close Moon shared those forty nights, all Earth born stone were kin to river rocks, no face shown scorn, no stranger impolite, and love shaped pudgy doves of sharpened hawks Pairs of old feet became two wings in flight that stamped no street, that tramped no mean sidewalks, those Houston summer days gave up all rights and claims of greater flame to passion’s locks Love came so soon, now seems a whispered dream, sweet typhoon, that swept a wounded heart upstream, benign monsoon, kept buoyant hope abeam two score moon,-lit nights it seemed that fate had deemed And too this trance, recalls the image of a face light enhanced, love’s eyes sought through the museum case that later danced, which brought two lovers to embrace, then romance, when ease and ardor merged, moist, enlaced This reverie, turns quick a shimmering mirage, confusing me, and sickens with its cruel barrage though silently, composed a hasty pasted harsh collage of memories, juxtaposed, a lacy grace and mace montage I loved with ease, as freely as with child or pet, not by degrees, ideally, all at once and yet you turned from me, who are you that you could forget our ecstasy, a sharp stone carved and darkened silhouette? Poets against the war is redundant |

This seemed an appropriate response to your dream poem. |

another extremely melancholy ache is found in the beauty of poetry touched by love as this is. I do believe sir that I need not tell you what this poem evokes in my thoughts and soul. |

"I loved with ease, as freely as with child or pet, not by degrees, ideally, all at once and yet you turned from me".....ahhhh yes, haven't we all.....excellent as always. "And it was at that age...Poetry arrived in search of me...And something started in my soul." |

"I loved with ease, as freely as with child or pet, not by degrees, ideally, all at once and yet you turned from me, who are you that you could forget our ecstasy, a sharp stone carved and darkened silhouette?" Feelings so beautifully captured, Richard. |
