To Return Again On Hallow’s Eve Comes this night, just once, each year his spirit awaits, that she should hear the voice of her love, then quit her bower on Hallow’s Eve, at the midnight hour She’s walked the halls these years long past her cry a sob in winds so vast for the one night that she again may meet the soul for whom her spirit entreats Her passage this night will take her beyond the walls of her home, t'ward the pond, as the moon surges up to black, black skies to yon meadow’s clearing she shall arrive Shhh, you can hear her soft and sweet refrain ‘tis tune of Greensleeves she sings again for her lover sang sweet this, their ballad as he promised himself to be her true lad And to him, she was his Lady Greensleeves she did him no wrong, but was left to grieve for to war he went, then did not return he was her love, all others she spurned But on this Eve, on this Hallowe’d night past pond and clearing, under pale moonlight she caught a glimpse, his spirit came ‘round then followed him, they retrieved her, drowned So comes this night, just once, each year, his spirit awaits, that she should hear the voice of her love, then quit her bower on Hallow’s Eve, at the midnight hour Images courtesy Passions in Poetry |

Excellent story KJ....The title made me think of the movie the other night... "The Hollow" or "Hollow"...whichever it was. |

Pulled by the poet, I recall Halloween's of my childhood when all was well and the world was as sweet as candy corn. KJ Through rubble and trouble and dark of night |
