Late The days are sparse already, scattering like straw in the autumn wind. You should have been my summer, growing together through the sweat hot days, gathering to us the harvest that would sustain. Now the fields stand vacant: rabbits pick through the stubble and the swirls of breeze have leaves in them. What is to be ours now, will there be at least a respite? Will fate grant us Indian Summer, some few days of comfort after the early frost, or can we only wait, hold each other closer for the warmth while outside, snow draws near, relentless? |

Jamie "or can we only wait, hold each other closer" This is a different style for you...It feels real....a scene from life...very well done! and I think the above quote would be a good thing to do during any season. |

You should have been my summer, growing together through the sweat hot days, gathering to us the harvest that would sustain. Now the fields stand vacant: rabbits pick through the stubble and the swirls of breeze have leaves in them. The starkness of this is incredibly gripping... your poignant questions touch the heart of every person who's ever hoped... and received less. Beautiful work!! |
