Waterlogged

I stumbled on lost Love’s remains
that washed up on my shore
that once I thought predictable
to show up nevermore
but with the waves of passing time
eluded and beheld
the moments that I thought had died
the moments I have failed
to say the words I should have said
of kindness and of care
still holds me inarticulate
for hope’s still floating there
upon reflection in my heart
upon the raging sea
upon the tides that shall not part
the destined course of me
‘til held at last a new found start
of Love raised from debris.

Lighthouse Bob

Bob of the lighthouse

it's amazing that things like this really do happen outside of novels.  You made me smile!

Dear Bob, this is one of my favorite of yours no doubt. So beautifully done and precious in its content. Your consciousness made you realize that there was a way to begin anew ... through the acceptance  of your own mistakes and the consequent healing process.
Love, Margherita

Sunshine,

I think that you are very very perceptive here and I do agree that along with being the nucleus of this poem that kind and caring communication is vital and the "glue" or "nucleus" to having a loving relationship. Again, thank you for sharing your insight. -Bob

Martie,

(LOL) I agree and expanding a bit on your comment here... I think that this poem might make for a good reality television series??? You know, right up there with "Survivor," "Lost," and "Desperate Housewives..." Don't you think "Waterlogged" kind of has a ring to it??? Don't you??? (Smiles) Got a laugh from your comment. Thanks for sharing. -Bob

Margherita,

Thank you once again for your sensitivity expressed. I have to say that this was an example here for me of real life being persuaded by art to do something beyond the ordinary and so after writing this poem in the middle of the night I realized my wife was awake and so I whispered her name just to be sure that she was and when she answered I said... "I love you." She questioned why I said that because I never just say it and I answered just because I do and left her with that and it was such a wonderful wonderful feeling. You are absolutely correct in your comment, because if we can search deep enough as I was required to do to write this poem and we can accept our mistakes and allow the healing process to begin... So true, we can begin anew.  -Bob

Marge,

You are soooooo clever. A 'rhyme in a bottle' certainly describes this poem perfectly I think. (Smiles) ...and, my dear poetess friend, I am so ever pleased to be here currently sharing and being inspired greatly by so many wonderful wonderfully talented poets.... and your "Huglets" are a most positive plus too. Susan Caldwell,

Thank you for your kind words here and I am glad that you found the "hope" that I was wanting to show in this poem and as a result to holding on to and putting that hope into action I do believe something very very "sweet" can and will many times transpire. I do appreciate what you shared here. Thank you. -Bob

A Romantic Heart,

Glad to have enlightened you twice here with my poem and you are a pisces fish sign??? (Hmmmmm) I am a cancer crab sign... but, I suppose being a crab can be taken different ways. (Smiles) I guess I'm a romantic crab, who loves the water also, soooooo, I guess we'll get along just fine. Thanks for your kind words here and I do appreciate, as the romantic heart that you are, that you found my poem romantic. That does mean much to me. Thank you. -Bob
