You seem like a nice person
so I think I can hang out with you
for awhile.
Maybe until you show true colors
of black or blue.

Just seems to me there is always
a not so nice past
that has tainted what was to be
a brilliant future.

And maybe that isn’t anyone’s fault.
Understanding too, that it just may be
a comfort to look so wounded,
a way to spawn pity.

Maybe you are none of these.
But rather,
just a little reluctant like me.
Afraid I will show my real self.

Maybe we are just two people.
Taking a slower train
to wherever
people are sane.

And it may be a long trip.

I want you to know that I liked this and could relate to the haunting of the past that seems to stop progress.

Wow! I know this wasn't written to me but it might have been. Convinced of men and women's dichotomous nature, an uneasy and fluid balance of good and evil in a body which, if halved mirrors its own opposite, I know we are all a shade of grey and our best hope is to try and shade ourselves toward the shale rather than the charcoal.

And the pity? It may simply come from the truth writ in earnest and dared into the light. Where would such as we be without the internet? Would these words ever be written, seen, heard? Enjoyed

Your understanding, your ability to take and shape, your mind enable to take a subject such as this and produce the clarity with words, images, thoughts and story.
