My world’s gone topsy turvy and I know not up from down,
I’m totally discombobulated and wear a frozen frown.
My home and land has sunk beneath the inundating waves,
I’m sinking fast to the ocean floor where lay lost watery graves.

My lungs are full of burning brine, my eyes see not the sun,
I’m leaving all I’ve loved behind, now that my days are done.
My cries are drowned by crashing surf ~ no one can hear my pleas,
I’m whipped and tossed and pulled right down with no kind reprieves.

Giant walls of water, they squeeze the air from lungs,
Visions of my life reel by as into the leagues I plunge.
I cannot see through the darkness ~ it appears the mid of night,
I pray that God will find me and return me to the Light.

Suddenly I heard a song that was sung by angel choir,
I was lifted up from the briny deep and out of my straights of dire.
They laid me on a downy pillow ~ ‘twas soft as a cotton cloud,
I gasped when I realized, I was vested in white shroud.

A brightly shining sun warmed up my weary soul,
For angels had delivered me to God who made me whole.
Forever I'll be grateful to have been saved through Heaven’s Grace,
But my heart was sad and empty as my eyes searched Eden’s place.

My loved ones must have perished and been taken away from me,
And now they are missing at the bottom of the sea.
When I felt the pain of loss and the sadness of separation,
I heard the joyous laughter of my family in elation.

Arms were wrapped about me and kisses graced each cheek,
My family had been lifted up from the briny deep.
We may have lost our lives and left the earthly plane,
But now we are a family in this heavenly domain.

Death is not the enemy. You simply change in form.
You rise up into heaven where the skies are blue and warm.
There is no pain or pestilence, no fears or tears of woe.
Only joy and happiness in a world of Light and glow.

You have such a beautiful heart, my friend... to find something positive in the midst of such horror is a gift...

Linda, this is indeed special and brought tears of sorrow and then tears of joy at the end.

Your heart overflows with God's spirit and grace and you pass it along as comfort to so many.

Luv you, Marti

EA, only you could have written this,  such
a tender rendering.  Be proud of yourself
for this gift.  Very nicely done.
