This Want, Nay Yearning That Presses From Lips

To weave words well in obsequious odes,
One has to have walked the lesser-known roads,
But to plait words into ballads of love,
One need only pen what the heart speaks of.

Flowery speech writ in Pindaric mode,
Doth pretty discourse but ‘tis naught but code,
Because seldom a courtly, “I love you,”
Earned not a response for ‘twas spoken true.

This want, Nay yearning that presses from lips,
For thee my darling’s my lunar eclipse,
O’ wed me sweet ache to she my revered,
For I’d have the kisses which long I’ve feared.

Alas audacity be not this strong,
This verse be not but another swan song,
Betwixt a books covers let this lay lie,
Be-still the heart for my need I’d deny.

It’s snowing outside let it veil this ache,
For I would forget the love I forsake.

Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history!

Oh, sorrow in my heart - such love, such a sweet soul in these words - how could she not accept and return such affection should she know of it -

beautifully penned - the ache is felt-

Sometimes you do all the right things, give your heart completely, and then they stomp on it....some people don't know love when they see it. Some run from it fearful of change or being tied down....I know I have just went through this myself.

You gave your heart, put it out there...hats off to you!
