The leaf suspends, spinning on its segue it strains for voice, as the outer world nears the dormant season, art is forsaken and poetry cannot be deciphered, graffiti sketches amid the torment of your sudden disappearance, the sea swells in my belly; begging to capture, then release you in the afterbirth of its foam, you rose once, within me, a renaissance of waves, and i seek no dissolution of you yet, feeling the glory of life, though infused with the pain of yet one more star crossed love affair, i gather up the embers of our spring affair, pinks and purples that burn in bonfires now, the scarlet leaf spins on her throne, and i choose not to let go, o pretty boy blue, why couldn't you just wish me godspeed, and kiss me a proper goodbye?
