Look a moment
over there.
Winter is on the fallow field.

Gray sky.
A line of elms.
Snow upon the hills.

See, though still,
how beautiful
the weathered barn beside the road,

the silver surfaced
frozen pond,

apart from what is said.

"...between the woods and frozen lake...."

Yes...just so, just so. You have a true gift for building scintillating imagery into tiny bursts of words.....

nodding agreement

extraordinary in the simplicity

just like the subject

a study of quiet contrasts and I do enjoy the stillness of your thoughts shared.
