Roses bloomed
Where I never planted them
They were wild
Yet beautiful all the same

Each bud would bloom
When the sun is near
Yet petals would fall
With raindrops and tears

I tried to keep them
From growing in my garden
Yet sunshine
Always made the roses blomm

How long would I be growing
Wild roses in my garden?
How long would sharp thorns
Cut me and make me bleed?

Today I cut my self again
Against a prickly rose thorn
Raindrops fell and petals fell
Until the sun came out to play

Dear sun, bright and beautiful
Unknowingly makes the roses grow
No matter how hard I try
I don't have the heart to let him go.

Poignant write...
one never knows what one
might find,
among the wild roses...

You have a tender heart and show it very lovingly.

J.Samm

The quality of something growing wild, is what makes it so appealing to me.  From your poem, I see that you see the beauty too.  Well done.

A very beautiful write, and one I can relate to, having also been pricked by those thorns more than once. And yet, I would not hestitate to reach out for one again, even knowing. Enjoying the metaphor, yes, romance is much like that, you might not choose to avoid it even knowing the possible consequences.
I enjoyed reading this, thank you for sharing.
