Sorry I've been away awhile.  I have been working, and working on a book ...and a website...and amidst all of that my hard-drive crashed again.  I lost quite a bit including some great pics of my 2 yr old.  Been a tough month but looking up.  Hope you enjoy this poem.  I will work on writing and replying more.  Missed ya'll!

Courageous Joy

“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”
Phillipians 4:13

Lost in the midst of this surging sea,
my home but torn from me
under the crushing waves of temptation.

Slowly, she sinks into the abyss
of all things in which I sought joy.

I cling to life upon the fallen mast,
the only remnant of the home I delighted
that has not forsaken me.

However, how quickly does water
pull at her precious pores,
beckoning reunion
in the woeful depths?

Alas, the last of home has fallen prey
to the arms of these unruly tides
to reunite with her longing helm.
Yet, through Christ I find,
I am not alone.

Over countless waves
I encountered the surge of death
yet I have not fallen prey.

Through this lesson alone,
I have found Him.
I have found faith.

In Him I have steadied
upon these waters ...saved.

He, my mast anew,
carries me onward.
Living by faith,
and awash in joy.
Confidant in circumstance.

Perhaps today I shall land
upon the shores of Heaven.
Which would be better?

I could not wish
for a better circumstance.
Saved life... saved for eternity?

The outcome for me in either life
is no less than sweet, sweet,
courageous joy...
Found only through Christ.

Your courageous joy comes from your loving and believing in Christ. It is He who has gotten you through the difficult times in your life.

It was good to read that you are working on a book. Not only are you a good writer but you have a lot worth saying. You have a kind and loving heart and there is much to be learned by those privileged to read your words. I look forward to popping by your website when it is up and running.

I was sorry to hear of your computer crashing and that you lost a lot of data.
Mine crashed a couple of months ago so I can commiserate with how you are feeling. But in a way, I considered it more of a cleansing. Off with the old and on with the better new! I'm back on track and don't feel as bogged down by some of the excess that I had stored on my computer.

I wish you well with your endeavors ~ and I was really moved by the poem. Whatever you have to write, I like to read.

Love Through Christ's Light,
Linda

May the coming New Yew be a joyous one for you and your family. xo
