What God, stayed waiting for this fisherman
To frame him in a lilac-aura?
What God planned this sundown augury
That halos this frozen church attendee,
Who takes communion, from such a hard alter?

Walking on the wafer, reminds me of Jesus,
High demonstrator of things miraculous;
So I genuflect, above his fish insignias

A respectful, humble parishioner
Quiet and calm, relieved of desires
Thankful, for the grace that sanctions winter.

All is comfort, in the pew where I sit,
Beneath a sky-ceiling (held-up) by pillars
Of praying trees through which, a soft-wind
Says me ancient mantras,(poems they saved,
For solstice day) they pipe, as the failing
Sun retires towards the tropics...
Descending like a ball of frozen fire.

Ford

The ice fisherman is a special breed, and you take it a step into reverence....even though the cold is harsh, there is a glow of light in your words that make such a peaceful feeling.  Thank you for sharing the way it is for you, with these beautiful words.  Happy Holidays to you and your family!

Ice fishing tests the mettle as well as the patience of an angler.  Well done Ice.

It sure does test ones "mettle"  I was on the ice that day since dawn and my mettle was very well tested. I love ice fishing...which is usually very good here in north central Pa.
The picture was taken by a friend that did not see through his lens what came out in the end...

Thank you for reading and the reply

This is quite beautiful, and so aptly depicts the intimate feeling of communion with nature. The aura created from the lens reflection underscores the mysterious beauty of the ice fishing moment.
Your pen name is well chosen, so a propos.
Thank you, Ford, for sharing the serene awesome beauty of that moment.

Thank You for coming back to see the picture...as you say and I believe, it does add much...

Kacy
I believe that my communion with nature is what keeps me alive..or at least sane...solitude is a healer..
You will often see me far from my friends on the ice..I never liked crowds anyway...I like small intimate gatherings, like two or perhaps three...
Manaste....

Ella
I only caught seven or eight fish that day, that I kept...The heaven/earth signs were wrong for good fishing...the barometer was spiking, the moon was out in the daytime and the wind was in the east....all bad signs if an ice fisherman was relying on numbers to mark success...But I felt as one with the energy entity...perhaps the aura was a sign that it knew that...

Merry Christmas, everyone
May the Energy Entity bless you all, and the ones that you love...

This is the stanza with so much imagination...
to see ice as a wafer
trusting the season's water
thanking Him...

WOW....

This piece seems to have frozen in my mind,
as I find it to be a write
that depicts
the essence of communion with nature,
one-on-one.

thank you, again

Karilea
The ice represents the communion wafer that some people trust will carry them trough hardships and save them....I feel the same way about the ice....
Thank You

Dixie
The scene is real and so are the images.
I just copied them from what I saw and felt..
Thank You

Kacy
Thank you for returning...
"one on one" yes, that's it...To be one with winters energy is wonderful..I know you feel the same way...the other seasons also hold my atention and piety..all of them are very important to see, and write about...
