Barefoot in boxers to unleash in the snow The Buckster, so loved and fretted in tow.
The barkless mutt, always a tease, Pulled as he strutted, to inform the boy, “Please…”
If unleashed,
I could make tracks in this white crystal stuff, Fluff up the chickens, and leave the snow dust!”
“Ah, but to be trusted, Buckston, you see, Just last week, you adventured and left out poor me!
You ran to the neighbors who were selling evergreens, Pranced around the children, causing giggles and screams.
You lapped up the chocolate spilled on the barn’s floor Ate lots of hotdogs--no stomach could hold no more!
You ran when we called you and hitch-hiked a ride When all this time we worried about our doggie’s cold hide.
Three days had passed and tears fell from eyes, When what should occur, but a big doggy surprise.
A call we received from two miles west THERE YOU WERE, a house guest (at the bed and breakfast)!
No! I won’t let you go! Away from me you’d run in this slippery, thick snow!”
Then with a tug and a twist and a turn, The boy in the boxers had something to learn.
His Clifford red dog had wrapped leash around And in snow pulled his master down on the ground.
Two such snow angels had never been seen!
And he, barefoot in boxers and dog on a leash Wrestled in the snow ‘til large pup got his wish.
Unleashed! Where will he go?

Thanks, RS. I have had the hardest time writing anything lately until today when I saw my son tiptoeing in the snow to bring the dog inside. It was too funny! Last week's adventures of the dog are true-he stayed leisurely at the bed and breakfast while we stayed home! When we got him from the pound, I knew we were in for it! Thanks for reading about the Buckster.

Margherita, Thank you so much for the warm greeting. It is nice to be back. I wish I had more time, but it's challenging for me to juggle work, family, and writing. I peep in to read poetry at work when I can, but rarely can respond there. I'm glad to see you have begun posting again. I had missed your inspirational writing. miscellanea
TD, You are such a doll welcoming me like that! The treat is in being back and reading others' poetry. There is so much talent and wonderful thinking. I'll try to stop in a little more frequently over the holidays if I can. I miss everyone! Thanks again for stopping by. It is good to hear from you again. (Glad you liked the dog--if he begins to look for a new home, I'll send him your way!) miscellanea
suthern, I'm glad you enjoyed this. Are you sure that Buck is not your nephew's dog? He has very long legs and travels quite quickly. Could it be possible this canine has indiscretely landed two homes, unknown to his masters? Thanks for reading this silly, but true one. I'm attempting to get around to everyone, but it might take some time. (My family has made it pretty clear they prefer I limit my time on the computer. Shucks! I so enjoy reading everyone's work here and miss it when I can't. misc'e ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

I believe your dog might be part demon, probably not as much as a cat, since dog do have a sense of loyality. Buck seem to have a bit of playful wildness. Enjoyed the story.

Chuckling...where will he go?
Apparently anywhere he wishes... but soon enough he'll return home, to lap up dessert from your dishes...
