Sure the miles of journeyed smiles to wane Spelling time, a far off chime, some tears reclaim Often though, the things I know came clearly marked A hobo’s sack, more light to pack, and cherished I embarked Along the road of marigold as summer slipped to fall A trade of sand for earth more grand, a higher heart’s recall The change of shoe, I took my cue in contrast of the skies blue eyes To use the cloth my self aloft, and found the warbles more to prize Alike in theme, a mocha cream, the night in froth lay down Beneath the warm of solace arm, the frost bestowed its crown In given day, the clouds away, made room for finger prints of sun To move along, in mission strong, the miles faded one by one Until the day, came near to play the edge of chasms bluff And looking down the sandstone frown, I knew I had enough Before me there, in steel stare, the footpath on a chain Appealed to me to wait and see, began the stroll again Across the wide of fear and pride, resilient moonlight glowed To call again against the wind in promised dawn now showed And at the end, I stopped to lend a moment on my knees That as I prayed, on track I stayed, despite the trains swift breeze Copyright Kkh 10/24/04 |

Soon, that train will slow, come to a halt and possibly even go into reverse...Or, would you rather it just slow or stop? Keep an eye out for the brakeman, he gets paid the little bucks, but ohhh so important is he!! |

TD, this is one of my favourite of yours. I enjoyed the lyrical quality of it and the vivid depictions along your footpath of marigold smiles. Lovely three times over! EA |
