they gather here, these human shapes with ship-wrecked eyes and faces carved like stone
they think me dormant and do not see my eyes have light
in this prehistoric sky
their mouths, too busy and hooked in the throb of genitalia and the swell of fish thigh high and trembling
this is my life, i suppose - and for me it is long and moaning day after night after day watching ghost ships in the fog and humans copulate like dogs
into this night i wonder, it's morning that i dread, another day of knowing of, the path i fear to tread. ~Sarah McLachlan~

Sounds of waves slapping logs of the pier
and you found the wash underneath...
well done, Maree!
Ah, this series, for the book, yes?

I see them! I SEE them! The imagery in this poem is simply incredible....reading it is like looking at a clear sharp picture, that morphs into another, then another....it would have been absolutely riveting even if the theme of it didn't rattle my cage!~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> ______________Ratleader______________

Such fabulous personification....got me thinking about what it would be like, no...not to be a lighthouse, you've got that covered, but something.

Can't let this one slip by.
You have to knit these all together one day, so we might read them one after the other.
Did I mention they are wondermuss!

I'm a baboon for good poetry and especially poetry about lighthouses and so I went back to read the other eleven (couldn't find 12, yet) and I do like this portrayal of the Lighthouse the very very best. I love how grandiose, weather worn, indestructible, and eternal the Lighthouse stands in relationship to us mere mortals... and the love making scene is pretty darn good too. (Smiles) Enjoyed reading this series very much. -Bob

Sweet lady, I sure did think that I had read this, but I don't see where I replied. this is excellent writing, just as all yours are. Here's a sigtag that I made a few days ago. I thought that it went very well with your poem. Hugs, Ethel
