No artist I but I would paint
beginning with my heart.
What colour do you think
when distant is the object
that defines its final look?

Transparent is my soul
but I would paint it bold
touching on your shadow
each and every night.

My eyes are blue
when not clouded
but I think I’ll mirror you
and give them the sparkle
of calm waters deep.

My smile only widens
when I think of you
but I am undecided;
do you want it quite that wide?

My hair?  Oh, my hair,
such a bother really
with a will of its own
but I’ll paint it as it is
as a sign of honesty.

There won’t be any wrinkles
on my countenance
because my love for you
gives me a youthful hue.

Head and shoulders only
till cows jump over moons
and trail the bulk of overweight
acquired instead of you.

My mind?  How to choose
from many mixed up views
red and fixed one moment,
pale in uncertainty,
and then fluorescent, confident
you’ll see no flighty whims.

In the background there is you
but I don’t know what to do.
Paint you reaching forward
or statically entwined
still making up your mind?

At the base of all I am
are the moving sands of time -
click the shutter quickly
before the vision dies!

Thanks for the read. No doubt a proper picture would be better but that's just ... "surface stuff". I prefer to look deeper - more truth there.
