Anchor It's the last day of the year would anyone mind it if I just disappear? 'cause in these grey days that hold hidden sunrays X marks the spot where I'm bound to find beautiful her double X marks the code that I must break a chromosone cure to my sleepless life-in-the-making the making of a life the breaking of a lie About my imagination it's either drop anchor or run this ship aground I won't make a sound as my dreams break the dam you have constructed around me hold on to your precious, I'm sailing right on through It's the first day of fear the first day of school, fear reappears and tells me to hold tight against the wind to fight the bigger, the bad football boys treating thier girlfriends like toys my mind screams, pound the flesh my heart jumps, leave the rest far behind it's almost recess time About my sensations it's either drop anchor or run this ship aground it's all happening right now and real to my fantasy mind and this figment of a life I have constructed around me hold on, dear self, to come sailing right on through Drop anchor or sail away and leave this world behind leave the girls who don't see you behind leave the high school band, the defective parents behind leave this life of lying to yourself and writing bad poetry behind and sail right on through and sail right on through and sail right on through this pain I'm sailing right on through "Poets are all who love, who feel great truths, and tell them; and the truth of truths is love." --Philip James Bailey |
