Uh oh, boys, here come bad news. Rubber-legs Dawson in his tapdance shoes. Rhythm and percussion; time to pay your dues He g'awn dance Rubber-legs Boogie Blues. He got a pocket full of sand for a shuffle beat wingspan of a clothesline and happy feet The crowd flat loves him and screams for more of his tippy-tippy-tap on the hardwood floor. (Chorus) Rubber-legs Rubber-legs Boogie Blues He'll dance the soles right off his shoes. He don't touch tobacco and he don't touch booze he barely touch the floor when he dance them blues. he barely touch the floor when he dance them blues. He dresses right sharp when he comes to dance Carnation in his collar and satin side pants You could part your hair from the shine on his shoes when he comes to dance Rubber-legs Boogie Blues. (Chorus) Rubber-legs, Rubber-legs Boogie Blues He'll dance the soles right off his shoes. He don't touch tobacco and he don't touch booze he barely touch the floor when he dance them blues. he barely touch the floor when he dance them blues. IF YOU HAVE TO JUDGE SOMEONE DO IT ON THE SIDE OF MERCY AND LET TIME SEASON THE RESULTS. |

Richard I thopught your song poem was so much fun as I meant mine to be that I thought I'd copy it over onto this reply for others to read again....Good fun! Eric Swingin' ax and takin' names, in a dancehall down at 4th and Main, Thaddeus was ticklin' the eighty-eights, itchy ivorys couldn't wait. Old Philo Fuentes had his horn, he was there when the blues were born, Nickel Knowles would skin the cat, quick to roll the rat-a-tat-tat. Belly Beales boomed on bass, man we really rocked that place, add the cat on xylophone, the dance floor was a firezone. When Mau Mau Mama started to sing, even the roaches got in the swing, couples mappin' their finest steps, feets a tappin', Man! we were hep. The floors were bowin' in rythmic dip, jitterbuggers swirled, split and flipped, loose suits fluttered, skirts sashayed, swingers struttered to the bands parade. The waiters kept to the step, bouncers were tossin' em with extra pep, the twins coronet and clarinet, jumped in, in time for the last two sets. But center stage and all the rage, Mau Mau Mama on a rampage, three octave spread and country bred, if you were bi-ped you had to tread. If your heart beat then aw-reet, you couldn't help but move your feet, all through the night we were tight, we jammed that place till early light. Dip Dip Da Dup Diddly Da, Bap Bap Boodle Oodle La La, Ring Ding Dangle Anga Woo Woo, Mau Mau Mama In A Muu Muu! |
