Ruffled water on grey sand drove your horizon across the tipped white waves across the bay to a 1000-foot climb across the bay. A deep valley scooping a crescent curved into the Alps highlighting small villages of lights A snow crested front with no sky lifts running promised work before skis promised learning A forest marked in colours for the route took runners at their own time pace and day to ease A road took isolation a belief to the darkness a feeling of peace and knowing and a new destination A door in a forty-foot wall opened to a back door for the gear and a place in the front for a change to new thoughts A smile on results of an honest politician gave substance to a belief that the community mattered and matters An independence in a dress in a smile in a feeling of feeling good illuminated lives of people to remember A time to stop and face a cost that life is transient and has an end but you felt you were ready is having courage But the one time that words are not enough is the death of child that should not happen and there will never be enough time for that |
