![]() ~ * ~ She said I had caused her to birth a smile, Feeling I had found my own voice, Not in rhymes, but flowing words, Spilled in random thoughts upon a page of white, She was glad wite had turned a hue of blue. Maybe she lives in the misted senses Still so fragile and unknown to me? There, on that path so shadow drawn By a mad mind’s spinning wheel, Living in constant fear of hearing voices Trigger that darkness of my past Filled with multiple directives Beyond any sane mind’s right and reason. Why she reasoned I had finally found my voice I did not ponder, no not for a second, Doing so would only impede its very acceptance. For all too long I wore her tender embrace. My life has always been just what it is was. Simply what others deemed it should be. Now in the winter-frosted stages of my life Understanding my past, and perhaps present Would most surly mean my sudden death. I’m different?I sure hope so. To care about those needing love and care Needs no reason, nor do I find fault in it. They are human beings whose veins Run with the same blood that I once shed. It is a privileged duty to care for others. That I never question. Perhaps one should not dwell so On the negativity of another’s life, Searching for some pity or a reason residing there, For they may long ago have forgiven their sinners Setting themselves free of any bondage. Sure, I have walked with a heavy load on this life's plain, Inhaling its beautiful fragrance, but also, Choking back vomit from its putrid smell of decayed rot. Still I know I stand tall, proud and beautiful. Love touched, seared, and all too often branded me, Still not unlike her I put my hand to my heart Hoping to feel one day what I know I may never feel Unsure if I even could, or how it feels. For another so ever brief moment My mind plays tricks in those shadows Floating hope in that dampened misted despair, Reminding me of those once offered, brief Beautiful flickers of luminescence That could warm me right to my very core. So again, in discontent I hide in shadows Searching for that light, but know this, I hide there in the safety of that darkness I can bleed there unseen, Always ready for flight from fright. I don’t know if I will ever find my own voice, For a shrouded pain lives there, But I feel some envy in her having found hers. ~ * ~ © Mysteria 10/2004 The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. Mysteria - I must agree with Serenty - your voice here flows in aria of emotion and beauty of soul - Sweet Lady, look no farther - for the essence of truth flows in passionate cascade- and it is sweet music indeed - Hugs to you - I so enjoyed this gift of sharing - that's what poetry is, to move the reader to feeling - Love - Susan Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you. Joy is a state of mind. |

Again, I am glad you enjoyed fantasy from a dark corner of my mysterious mind. Sometimes our real voice hides in shadows for reasons beyond the comprehension to those asking the questions. ![]() Suzie ~ I always put the name of the art and artist on all my graphics as it is only right, they too hold copyrights. I try to use as much of Linda Bergkvist's work as I can and this one is called,"Enyhyre." I sent you all my links to her work so enjoy! The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. I am so pleased you enjoyed this little exchange I had with Karen one night, and maybe I should write of them more often. Thanks again. |
