Because...

Today I have the need
  to be thankful
for the many friends
  that have become
so meaningful to me.

Those whose words
  have held me up,
lifted me,
  yet let me back down
to reality.

Those whose warm hearts
  I have felt through
the touch of hands,
  the sharing of meals
and the laughter and tears
  of words in rhyme
and the songs sang
  in a harmony of friendship.

Those who have taken a part
  of my heart, some in memory
some in a present hold and those
  who in the future will have
a set-aside-place
  in my forever.

I am especially thankful for
allowing me these moments
when moments are needed.

This is very beautiful, friends & family are all we really have to hold dear in life, and some of us are blessed to have both, or to have them be one in the same !!!
