Felt like writing this watch Bhopal. We danced hot or not We melted away And again Control Given a moment, a breath, a weakness, a desire Honesty never gave anyone anthing As you die for politicians Knowing they will live from you You in the ditch Your dream of As you Rise above when the camera's will be back in 10 years After everyone exploiting it Walks away Dave |

"In February 1989, the Supreme Court of India directed Union Carbide Corporation (UCC) and UCIL to pay a total of $470 million in full settlement of all claims arising from the tragedy. The government, UCC and UCIL agreed and the two companies paid in full on Feb. 24. approximately 3,800 persons died, 40 persons experienced permanent total disability, and 2,680 persons experienced permanent partial disability. Expect only more such tragedy as greed outsources to places where the public is less protected, public officials more corrupt and life is considered more cheaply lived and more quietly died. Enjoyed Poets against the war is redundant |

wondrous awakening... heard on the news this morning that (studies) show, (what studies, who and where) that less people are dying of cancer due to more and more smokers quiting. Yeah Right! I wonder, which states are the highest in cancer victims and what chemical plants are in the nearest vicinities of those people. Who are "they" trying to kid!!! If this happened then, its happening now, and I ponder to what degree... I admire you for posting this...wondering when people are going to wake up and take interest, reasearch instead of believing the news media. |

Bhopal, Bhopal. One has to ask what did the Indian Government know about the dangers prior to it causing so much harm. Bluntly, I think government that are so protective of TNCs are useless. Put people first companies after. Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love |

The contaimination is still there. Yes it is India's problem and they are watching their own people die while they live off the money. I know we have a better life than they do, but I keep wondering why we pour money in that gets strip off, including Russia and we are expected to put more in as we launder our own money for their benefit. Yes you can work for an organisation - NGO but I gave 9 years without pay to help people and most of those I sat on committees with were milking the expenses and their careers. Reality has to come to NGOs and I dont judge by where Journalists bribe more than others so when the helicopter landed and they expected water and food - they got Reporters. I'm no do-gooder but feeding corrupt politicians money and NGOs that live of it, is not what it is about. The main thing seems to be "get your name in the frame" and your face "on the TV". Everyone went back to the site for the anniversity, where are the reporter's next expenses to come from, and they having done their duty turn to the next site. I will write one more poem on reporters. dave Ericc Powerfuly expressed Dave...great write. Eric Thanks Eric. Daniel J D Bhopal, Bhopal. There is a lovely bit in Going Postal by Terry Pratchett on how to milk a business rising, running, failing. Yes they knew. Dave |
