Love Not Appreciated You were the fire that warmed my icy heart, My blanket against the harshness of reality; But memories no longer warm my lonely bed And time is not a welcomed companion. Do you remember the baths I used to prepare for you? And the many colorful candles that surrounded your glistening body? Did you ever count the rose petals that kissed the waters surface? Do you remember the taste of wine, when I kissed your lips? Why do I now taste only my salty tears? We were like the moon and the sun, Two glowing celestial bodies, Often merging into an eclipse, Bonding as one heart; Now we see each other only in passing… Where did the love go? I laced you with diamonds and gold Because a queen deserves such beauty; If I could own the skies, The stars would be your necklace--- A woman deserves such beauty, But shouldn’t a man deserve her appreciation? I miss cooking you those meals, When your smile gleamed more than a thank you; It was your smile that tamed my soul And made me forget to love myself; I had fallen in love with you But now I have risen to move on Because I can’t make you love me anymore. As unique as each star is the love expressed from each light, and to not appreciate that is probably the only true sin we bear. You earned your wings. TD |

A beautiful flow of words...lots of thoughts within...I often find myself thinking of the things I require in a relationship...they are; to be admired and to be desired...if these elements are missing or lacking I feel the loss...James |
