Time and element have brushed my side, I am a mountain of unassailable height. I am a sculptor’s dream…solid rock, A natural statue of power and might. A haven for wildlife and nesting birds A vista… back dropped by the sky, Solidly stable, yet ever-changing, I have seen my majesty make you cry. So many miles I command and span, A canvas for your curious mind, You see in me what you want to see, Amazing! The answers that you find. Today, an angel carved upon my face, Tomorrow might be a warrior chief. See what you will…and what you can For shadow and light make the image brief. Time and element have brushed my side, I am a mountain of unassailable height, For more years, than which you can count I have been a sign of infinite might. |

I see the faces, too... and oh, the sadness in some of them... and the majesty of others... and they can see so far, and so much... Excellent poem, Spirit. Thank you! |
