The good of man comes in many faces Most of the time, it is only courtesy To a select few, we pass day to day All of sudden, they want to say I spend most of the year dealing with liars All of a sudden there has to be redemption They have to make up for the lack of feeling Commercial's brainwash their way of thinking How come when the time is near All of sudden, they have no fear Guilty conscience, I don’t know, better to be honest and take your chances Try acting normal, it's just the calendar here Once a year the facade takes hold Hoping the cure is within a time of rejoicing Hollow fake promises are made within He or she definitely knows, who has been naughty and who has been nice Hide behind your daily lies Just because it's time to spend money Doesn't mean you have to be phony Listen to you heart instead, write that check Hope it does not float Or else you will be in that sinking boat "What we have here is a failure to communicate" From the movie "Cool hand luke", one of my favorites; |

Well I certainly agree. I used to get bent out of shape by my fellow capitalists this time of year, the race for a parking space, the shopping carts stabbed into my heels, the shorter-than usual tempers displayed in road rage. But now, and particularly after this farcical election, I just laugh. Enjoyed [This message has been edited by RSWells (11-28-2004 12:10 PM).] |
