It hides its voice below corrugations That fold over deep-sunk boulders, Making no sound Until it hits a block in the road, That rises up squeals from its throat ; * As the tumbling-carnival ride Takes it rapidly down, it sounds High tenor, and soprano, babble; Brings to song, the delights of its travel Over migrated sand, And half-sunk rocks. * The conductors baton Signals for sound, for sharp chords When water meets obstruction Or its love affair meander, Towards the sea, is sharply bent, Or by means of other ways, is blocked... But when it slows, so do the lyrics Deep water stifles, hides the singers Makes mute, the bright chorus Whose voices are heard, in silver splashes; Makes us deaf to the rivers music. |

You laid down a river, but gave me a Such beautiful music, Ford. Thank you! Karilea - if I whisper, will you listen? Keeping in mind, I must stand close...and keep my promises... |

Noble lines here Ford... Brought to mind that catch of breath deep in the gut...that wells so hard as to strangle in silence from the sheer weight of its absorbed emotion. When the dam bursts...oh baby! Liked this. TD |
