(Some people do crossword puzzles but I'm making history with the longest poem ever out of all the titles of Open Poetry #33 - my new sleeping pill. This is the beginning.) There’s no point in sleeping once the next sun’s come up and so I stand watching the sun rise but there’s no hand held in hand because into the night and beyond the stars a lonely heart held by the heights of lost days is just staying alive to die. Phantom needs like echoes on the lake in the shy of morn’s light take flight into the storm between here and there. Smoke rings and memories do a morning pirouette and the best of me in playgrounds of my mind unchained and uncovered without effort makes the decision to go on in the arms of sensation to summer’s end. Walk with me till evening shadows, fancy and full of evening’s breeze, curtsey for the king and candles splutter love, hope, beauty, in my world of fantasy. Come journey with me. Don’t stand watching from the 41st floor for the time has come for transformation. But how like this day, this quiet morn, to not enlighten my existence to a new beginning and to tie a dead-eye knot in stitches over my unspoken thoughts until defeated I weep upon this mysterious mountain. Oh, where is the river, the original of dawn, and the words I hunger for if not hand in hand with what could be tangible if two people embraced in the warmth of the moon until lily birthed stars to deserving applause? Gavel on gravel, pebbles, mere pebbles, and a place I might call home buried beneath the eye of the storm. Escape with me to a gentler time for you are a summer song in my rainy day thoughts and feelings challenged and hard put but not too scared to seek a meadow I call eternity. Words on walls, allusions, like an unopened purse of life and a poet’s truth play blind mans bluff with friends, neighbours and love’s labours, like my little kitten sun stroked and unsure in the arms of Lingerie Baby finds layered meaning in tangled thoughts. The purring senses of integrity perhaps but maybe not are the song of the serpent tainted with time (inspired) at day’s end but I cannot know for sure because the obvious like the words of your eyes and ancestral winds are indecisive and vague in absentia. The effects of time on eyes of blue and a once beautiful china doll as embers die at Halloween are obscure yet familiar but I think worthy to miss along the road to winter with white peaks, red canyons, beneath the serenity of stars when time cannot be time and hope is on a busman’s holiday. I wish someone with faultless bravado and fingertip innuendos could take me hostage and move me from memories I will cherish forever or make a moving sculpture of dawn’s stretch till the all of me comes complete. What next … from the past … the silence. Am I more lovely when sleeping giants roar within and still the eyes? Is it you to make me pale to luster or the endless desire of mountain madness from across the unquenchable fire? (To be continued) |

Thanks to all. I think it's just laziness when all is said and done but it's too hot here to think much and I'm more or less done with my look at life ... and love for the time being that is. Still, one never knows what's around the next bend. |

too, too cool - now I've got to seek out the others ![]() ![]() Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you. Joy is a state of mind. |
