I derive so much pleasure, From everyday simple things, From the droning of a dragonfly, To the song a bluebird sings. From the skies when sun is setting, To horizons when sun does rise, There's beauty all around us, ~ Countless treasures for our eyes. A baby snuggled in my arms, A child's hand in mine, A kitten curled on my lap, Are touches of Divine. Winds in stormy weather, A glass of vintage wine, A garden rife with roses, The heady scent of pine. The changing of the seasons, The joy these changes bring, A drive in the countryside, The sounds when church bells ring. Lazing beneath an elm tree, Reading a favourite book, Listening to the soothing sounds, Of a stream or babbling brook. Held in the arms of a loved one, And hearing, "I love you", Standing on top of a mountain, Awed by a breath-taking view! Sitting along a shoreline, And gazing out to sea, With seagulls soaring overhead, On a day of feeling free. Canyons, lakes and meadows, Rivers, hills and dales, Forests, ponds and valleys, And winding mountain trails. Surrounded by friends and family, Sharing our selves with each other, Enjoying that sense of belonging, In a world of sisters and brothers. A cooling drink, on a hot summer's day, Eating your favourite food, Listening to music, that feeds your soul, Lifting your spirits and mood. A bubble bath at the end of day, Is a calming and soothing delight, Cozying under a comforter, And sleeping throughout the night. The scent of air at winter's end, Raindrops on my tongue, The softness of a fresh-mown lawn, The roar of a spring river's run. That first morning cup of coffee, That smells and tastes so good, The aroma of a country meal, And of a campfire's smoking wood. Twilight, when day is unwinding, Dawn when the day does awake, Noon when the sun is peaking, Are gifts for us all to partake. The celestial bodies in heavens, Comets, the stars and the moon, Brighten the skies in the nighttime, While bullfrogs throatily croon. Snowcaps that glisten in sunshine, Rainbows that span misty skies, Palms in tropical breezes, All add to this Earth paradise. Me too, me too. It's amazing what the kiss of a breeze will do. Or the simple being of the lilies in the garden. And the moon right now, it's a sit out on the deck and sigh kind of sight.  (does happy dance) Yay! Oh Linda, your heart must have and sing the whole encyclopedia of simple blessings, yay! (kiss on cheek) I smile by simply just watering the lawn and birdbath, to imagine all the happy baby birds bathing in the birdbath and butterflies kissing the dew-kissed flowers, yay!
