The stakes were high upon the felt as cards around the dealer dealt. His pair was high, as was his bet the win was far from certain yet A fine filly sat in his view Brunette with eyes of misty blue She smiled not once before the game and now she’d called, her chips the same The bet was even ‘round the board before the flop was turned toward He hit pure gold, three of a kind. But those long legs haunted his mind. He put a quarter mill on the green Not even a flinch from her was seen. She sat and thought behind those eyes of misty blue and thund’ring skies. A fourth card turned was a black Ace Still not a twitch showed on her face. The River came, a Ten of Spades. Betting time’s now, no more charades. He sat and pondered what she had this filly so fine, lookin’ so bad. She stared through his soul with those eyes of misty blue and thund’ring skies. His mind was whirling from the thought that perhaps he was being bought. For Misty Eyes sat with a cold stare and twirled a lock of fine silken hair. He went all in, the house was still until she matched with a half mill. Those legs, his mind, was all he saw his feet were tired, his butt was raw. He sat with no chips, waiting to see the hand of fate of one filly. She turned two spades,a King and Queen. Royal this flush, the best he’d seen. The finest hands and nails to match raked in those chips, was quite a catch. The filly had won, fair and square More than a mill her winner’s share. She stood to leave, he stood to stare at long lean legs and silken hair. She threw him a chip with a grin they both won when he said “All in”. |

Smiling here, you did a much better job of it than I did. I was inspired by watching the Poker Tournament today, and it's such a fascinating game, and you did a great spin on it, Barry. tsk. I'm gonna have to work on my game with a poet like you around! Wonderful. |

Smile. Susan Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you. Joy is a state of mind. |
