She stood in painted face The only canvas in the place; Stilled by emotion, Faking calmness, Lacking inspiration, Draining from the stress, Facing facts unbelieving Tears washed her face As she broke to grieving. As requested closed the lid, Latching it from all stares, To stay finally forever hid In eternal shadows lair. Gloom |

What I love about your poetry is it is portraiture--it makes no demands of judgement, it's just there, showing IS for what it is... slices of life with Rembrandt lighting--meaning, that yes, you show moments, but with illumination from within the subject. ![]() Sad and real and honest--you translate the ache of such observation lovingly, and not at all detached. applaud |
