A simple gesture
a random act of kindness
bestowed on an empty soul,

you reached right in
and took hold
bonds tied
not by apron strings

but through threaded words.

In silent nights
of starry skies
you dreamed with me
and when the sun
was darkened by
clouds of day
you showered your light

lighting my way.

I did not know your touch
but I felt you holding my hand...
when my tears fell
I felt you brush them away
as any mother would
when giving love to her child...

Mother...
I could not claim that sacred name
for my own
but I cherished it in this heart
that has been touched
with the love
of you...

{with much love to a woman
who has touched me as much
as the mother that I never knew..
because I can..
with much love...
dedicate this to you... }

If I have touched one heart with my words, then I have acheived my goal..

on the wings of words our spirits fly
and our souls are free

The woman to whom
this is dedicated is the
fortunate one for having you
in her life...

random acts of kindness...
reap much in the way of backwash...

Well done, and Congratulations on your 7,000th post, Donna.  You've achieved many things, but mostly, you've garnered many friendships with your gentle spirit...

Kari? mum.... and thanks... me thinks the sun is shining brightly!!

Nancy, thank you.
As you know, I grew up without my mother
so for me to feel this way about her..
is truly special to me.  This was the only way I could think of to thank her for her love and support.  Hugs to you sweet lady.

Donna

To be touched by love in this way, is wonderful...and usually works both ways!

Donna,
wonderful words to someone who sounds as if she epitomises the word mother, whether biological or substitute.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

I love this:
"bonds tied

The most unique image in your poem ... and yes, touches the heart.  Thank you for this beautiful piece (and for welcoming me to Passions)!

Donna,  no words could take the place of
those you have written.  For what has been
written is a priceless and precious gift.

Congratulations on your 7K milestone....

If your words affected me this much, I can well-imagine that that dear lady would need a box full of tissues while reading this touching tribute!

Congratulatory hugs on reaching this milestone! Your gentle spirit now has birdie wings to go with your angelic ones!
