she lies back
and takes him
into her soul
closes her eyes
and smells the
sweat and incense
in the air
the bedsprings
squeak keeping time
with the soft sounds
coming from the
stereo and their ragged
breathing
she tries to catch
her breath
and feels like
she's spinning upward
away from the earth
the room blurs
all around her
and a strange sound
fills the air
she quickly comes
crashing back down
and slaps snooze
on the alarm clock

she rolls over
and faces the empty
bed next to her
then sits up
and prepares to
face another lonely day.
