Poet Tree From afar I recognized her for her true self Feeding from the darkness of deep thought In the wilderness of lost words; She slowly tramples on brittle, colorless leaves Making her way to the tree at the center of my soul--- A tree of heart shaped fruit, forbidden to be eaten. In truth, she would have it no other way Her tongue quickly licking her lips Of the remaining speckles of dried blood from Pandora’s soul; So she is not intimidated by the wry smile of my soul Who stands with a flaming sword, protecting my innocence. But her sweet words seduce my angelic form And she bites into ripened, bitter, red flesh--- Memories and blood gush onto sharpened white teeth As she feeds off the world’s pain and sorrow. Marcel |

"As she feeds off the world's pain and sorrow" Sounds like the incubus.. Should there be wound, then the waters of the infinite sea will heal, for no man is an island...and no woman of stone. Applause TD |

Wow, what a poem! The imagery, the emotion, the way it flowed -- all great in my book. Bravo! ![]() |
