Weeping Willow Ah! Weeping Willow why do thee weep? In the course of time you have lost your richest soils and life sustaining waters. Your roots sliced and covered with highways of smothering cement and buildings of steel and concrete. Ah! Weeping Willow why do thee weep? Has the sun left you with no warmth or has the wind turned to another with his tender loving embrace? Your roots drenched in an undying thirst that no amount of polluted waters can begin to quench or sustain. Ah! Weeping Willow why do thee weep? Your branches sweeping low kissing the ground that you so dearly love. The sun returning and the wind kissing your wizened branches of delicate flowering bloom. The rain nourishing your roots so they may grow and sink deep into the hardened clay. The season of spring has once again returned. Lift your branches high and capture the sun, wind, and the soothing rain. Weep no more my beautiful Weeping Willow. Weep no more. Love BonBon |

A wonderful portrait penned here Bonnie. I could visualize the willow tree as I read. Excellent poetry! |
