Yes I Can: A Response

The ice of fear wraps a ring
Around the once-green field of your heart,
Deadening love, joy, and life
Before it can blossom forth.
Heartache that time is slowly distancing
Still burns fresh in your mind,
Extinguishing from your monochrome view
The vibrancy of my love.
Waking, eating, breathing, sleeping,
I dream warm thoughts of you...
Smiling, light, dancing hand in hand
Across the verdant pasture of
What could be our all.
Come lay beside me in the field.
Let earth and sky be our bed tonight.
Wrap yourself in the fire of my love--
Burn free from your prison.
Ask not the question, "Can you love me?"
Live the answer: Yes, I can.

I havent been around this way in quite some time... nice to see the quality of poets here is still exceptional as always. Now I remember why I always loved this forum. thanks for a great read.
