With rays of first dawning light,
Songbirds sing their songs.
They warble words of happiness,
As the crickets chirp along.

Mockingbirds and orioles,
Their songs fill summer air.
The meadows hum with nature sounds,
There's music everywhere.

~ The buzzing of a bumble bee,
The ribbit from a frog,
The droning of a dragonfly,
As it hovers over log.

The pines do sough with whistling winds,
Waves pound the rocky shores,
Nature's rhythmic cadences,
Touch my spirit and so much more.

I feel them in my body.
I feel them in my soul.
I feel them in my heart,
~ Nature's songs make me whole.

Linda, I'm sitting here in the middle of the night....just about the time that our mockingbird wakes up -- he/she sings like a nightingale sometimes; other times like other beautiful songbirds.  When I was a kid, I would go to sleep to the sounds of bullfrogs and crickets -- a most beautiful and soothing song.  Loved your poem and the sense of "serene" it brought.  burrrump, burrump, burrump (that's bullfrog for sleep tight Angel; no more falling sheep, okay?!).  luv ya, lily

From one nature-lover to another:

Think green!

I'll join you in dancing to the songs of the sparrows!
