Grip that chokes the beating thought In camouflage the blind of waiting wrought Yet tenderly the sand is scooped in undertow And reason was surpassed in loves name long ago At times my courage plants its feet on solid ground Touching earth and sky a placket truth so sound A step or two to call my own way trembles by There in the surface sheens the feeding streams belie And I am simple in the min as complicated as you please For I forsake the past to drive relentless to its knees A view of broader range Refused succumb the hands of change For I will be this true to you, to hold myself erect My lips the platter of self respect For what is left unsaid is never left unfelt My heart will not deny, there is no innate need to lie For silence is the simple truth that cannot say goodbye Copyright Kkh 7/20/04 |
