There would still be stars twinkling in midnight sky
Cotton candy clouds would lazily drift by
There would still be wind whispering through the leaves
And seeds of dandelion dancing in the breeze
There would be sunrise and glory of sunset
Deer grazing on hills in regal silhouette
Soft sounds of birdsong would linger in the air
Children would frolic all innocent of care
Seasons would still change and this old world would turn
But I’d be just a shell... for this I have learned
I might keep breathing one step to another
But “I” would be gone without you, dear lover
There would be no heart left in me, no giving
Glance at anything, no reason for living
Life began with you - You are why I exist
There’s nothing before the magic of your kiss.

Suthern beloved one, this is without doubt one of your golden pieces, its touch across my soul is beautiful, and oh the way you spin a line into magic. I love it utterly, utterly, utterly.

Why oh why is it that there are people who can write words that transcend the medium and inscribe such utter wonder? Whatever the answer is, and I think its because you feel the words, on a level that is far deeper and more real than most others do. There are writers of poetry, and then there are Poetic Writers you of course are a master of the art and I wonder at the delight that is you.

Some days, the only PIP visit I make is in the middle of the night when some dream shakes me awake and some reality keeps me that way.

If I'm lucky during those times, I run into a poem like this ....like I did just now. Well done, Laura....I wish there more of this kind of poetry from you, and less of the sad.

...but with this beauty in mind I think I'll head back to bed.

the ending is an exclamation point to the wonderful images that lead the reader to hold their heart and sigh...wonderful write lady
