Beautiful Stories To Tell Foreign legionaires tell stories of a woman that appears to a chosen few. Always at their moment of greatest desperation she comes to see then through. I'll tell you of such a story, every word I speak is true, for I met this woman that saved me in the deserts of Rendezvous. All my comrades had been slaughtered, picked off by a band of Arabs one by one, only I was marching onward, losing my battle with the hot desert sun. Two times Ahab's men charged me, but I fought them off hand to hand. Now I stumbled lost and weary across the parched desert sand. In the distance was an oasis, it's beauty wishing me well, there I met a lovely maiden, who told me that she knew me well. She told me that her name was Suzie, and as we stood before the wishing well, she granted me just one wish, I wished that I would know her well. For I knew that if I could share my life with Suzie, I would have a lifetime of beautiful stories to tell. JamesLee 17July2004 |
