Don't try to placate me..

with self-serving statements
of hollow forgiveness.

I need the whole of it,
the covering offered
acceptance proffered,
the erasure of my fate.

Do you think
   I can't read the hate,

between the lines
so oddly defined
with words that don't fit
that just don't sit
       right,
with the rest of the diatribe.

Like some half-assed hurried bribe
hoping for confession
yes, your obsession...

is to hear my life played out
to play upon my doubt
until hysteria I have reached.

The walls of sanity now are breached
so get thee hence,
       over the fence
and leave me to myself.

I want life back on the shelf.

~ Gosh, I've been in that place and it was the pits! Thank goodness that is all behind me! I knew that there would be brighter days ahead ~ and there were!
