Long ago,
our love was too new
for ghosts, fossils or flaws
to new to have a past
to talk over
or collect memories from.

Now
as the ghosts and memories
line our attics
the fossils fill our shelves
we wonder
are the flaws too numerous
to repair
or will the firm foundation
of the past
withstand
the phantom imperfections
of the future?

Wonderful passage! If only we knew how to know what the future holds for our relationships with ourselves and our lives.

In an imperfect world
Love can only be
An emotion of beauty.
Flaws must be overlooked.
And passion allowed to run
It's course.
