Poet's note: Over the years, I've had terrific friends. I've discovered that in true friendship one listens. That's the easy part. The hard part is for one to share his/her pain. This is a poem written for such a friend, who would not want to "inconvenience" anyone by sharing the pain within.) WANTED: WATER to Fill My Pool (written by A. Polar Bear) Though cold winter waits at autumn gate When summer waters have been drained, I wish to swim polar bear laps But waterless is the pool; I wait. Where can water be obtained To fill empty seasons hole? Not a drop with me does it share, Its faucet corroded with lime; Wet must somehow be derived, Perhaps... by collective tears? Where can water be obtained To fill empty seasons hole? For this polar bear needs warmth in lapping cool. Have you a tear to help fill an empty pool? ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ (Written by miscellanea with help of my furry friend. Thanks, A.P.Bear, for your contribution.) Sure, that's what friends are for. Nicely done. And appreciated I am sure. If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |

Perhaps... by collective tears? ~*~ What a way to fill a pool...of salt water...a bare bear's natural choice, to be sure... Smiling with you... and adding a few extra tears to brim... |

Larry, You know all about what good friends do! I've read it in your writing! I'm a bit moody today and am glad to have my internet friends here. Oh, well, I think I'll go swimming--take a cool in the pool! It does tend to chill one out! Thanks, misc'a |

Sunshine, To brim my pool sounds wonderful! Watch out, I'm splish splasher when in the water! If in a pool, ya gotta have some waves and maybe even a little fun along the way! Thanks, Sweet Water, I mean Sunshine. missie |

I read about this and if I am right about how they are looking forward to bringing more tankers in which will destroy the bears even more. What games are we playing with the world that are based on stupidity. Do we all say we get right the next time around. Very good words in your poem, very good Dave |

Dave, "What games are we playing with the world that are based on stupidity." I couldn't agree more. When we know that it only takes two points to make a straight line, why do we perplex situations by adding zig-zag-placed-dots for political gain? Priorities and simplicity should be considered. Thanks for your thought provoking response. miscellanea |

Cathy, this reminds me (yep, here we go again. Sorry! Everything reminds me of something) of when I use to go to summer camp. We'd have a cabin of 6 or 7 girls and we'd all stay up late talking. Usually we'd start the evening giggling and after a few hours there'd be a couple girls left awake, sharing their life stories with eachother, sobbing like babies, glad for the new friend they'd just made. Eventually they'd go to bed and get maybe an hour of sleep. Then, at five AM the camp had what they called the Polar Bear Swim. So the new friends would get up early and go out to swim in the freezing water... smiling and happy again. I love your analogy! And I love reading you. You definitely know what friends are all about. Take care Always, Alyssa He was a man of sorrows |

Alyssa, It is great to see you again. I didn't realize how much I'd missed my friends here until after my muse took a vacation. Now, I again find myself posting, tickled to death to be back among friends. Camp stories and Polar Bear Swims, spider webs, barrels of hidden candy, canteen, campfire... Oh yes! See, you just brought finnnnnneeeee memories back because you dared tell another story! I love your stories, Alyssa. Perhaps we should write to one an other! hugs to ya, cathy |

Yep, I'm in the same boat. I just found my muse after what seems forever, though I fear she may have already rushed away again. ...and scavenger hunts, and relay races, bribing the counselors, sneaking to the boys cabin in the middle of the night and singing, camp food... Perhaps we should Always, Alyssa He was a man of sorrows ...I am a girl of tears. |

Misce....excellent point, and a touching thing for a friend (who cares)...(a true friend always will) to do for another person when things are not exactly as they might want them to be. |
