Back many a year when I was a boy, I had me a hero, and his name was Roy, Now Roy was a cowboy, and man could he sing, Not none that I cared, 'cause singing wasn't my thing, Roy done owned him a horse, a stallion named Trigger, T'weren't no better horse, least ways I did figure, Now back in them days, my hero wore white, The bad guys wore black, and were always ready to fight, But Roy always whupped 'em, 'cause he was the good guy, And good always beat evil, you didn't have to ask why, But today I'm afraid, in the pass of many a year, That good's done lost its bearing, and it's evil I fear, That's a winnin' the battle, 'cause evil ain't lost, Since Roy up and left us, I shudder the cost, Some laws are repealed, and some new laws are written, Now some of these laws, I admit to forgettin', But good is still good, and evil's still evil, And Roy I remember, and for always I will, For Roy was a cowboy who always wore white, And I don't need no law books, to tell me what's right. |

Now this is one cowboy that really had a fittin good time with this here read. Much enjoyed and I don't need no poetry guidelines to tell me when something is good and strikes my fancy. This write did and I reckon I should tell ya that I liked this one alot. |

You are forgetting, behind Roy there was Dale, Who could sing up a storm to them boys in the jail. For men in white hats, following the law was just right, That’s why they all rode horses off into the night. He was my hero too, and Dale, well she mentored, Still think today that's why I am realy quite centered. Too much money, time, and nothing worthwhile to do, It’s bringing kids to the courts, and their judgment too. I say put re-runs in jails, and teach them what’s right, Bet each one of those prisoners would sleep better at night. Nothing like Dale, Roy, and Trigger, "The Beav", Bradys’, and such. Those shows would soften the hardest criminals’ s touch. Yeah right! Tim you are something else sometimes, love how your mind just fires out thoughts into the night~ ~ Better to write for yourself and have no public, than to write for the public and have no self ~ Cyril Connolly |

Tim .... I spent hours in front of the TV watching the Roy Rogers and Dale Evans Show. Most our age learned right and wrong from shows like this. A wonderful write. He was my hubby's hero as a youngster. hugs, Marti A single sunbeam is enough to drive away many shadows. |

Tim He was my hero too....and although I was a girl, I wanted to me just like him. I rode that stick poney of mine on the trails in the back yard, and I still can remember the sound the hoofbeats made in my heart. Thanks for this.  |
