The Viking and The Gypsy Part II

The dragon descended deep
Within sprawling caverns dark
Clutched ‘neath his wing the gypsy lass

“I shall eat you” – he breathed a spark
“Then pick my teeth with your bones
Fear for the worst, this day, to come to pass”

The Caverns dark enveloped them
Only light was by his self made flame
Casting dancing devils upon ragged walls

Despair, Sorrow, and hopelessness
These were the plagues the dragon made
The abyss, the chasm in which to fall

To give in, to be eaten, to be consumed
This could not be her fate-
So Gypsy Maid began her word spells to spin

Her voice, though woeful, still carried tune
And magic was woven in shining cascade
With hope and love and soul blended within

The dragon’s clutch began to loosen
Letting go the prey he craved
His intent lulled from the beauty’s charm

And there- from afar- a light trickled in
White and shining with call to home
Gypsy fled then towards hope’s waiting arm

But not far behind the dragon came
Having lost the spell of her song
He would have this beauty as his meal

For how could she imagine there to be an escape
From this darkness of his own creation
She would yet submit to his devil’s sin will

OK, I am hooked...now reel in this big fish
and win the trophy....Where are her tools
now?  Surely she could throw one to the
Gypsy Lass?  Hmmmmmm.............

D- you crack me up.  But I guess the dragon needs a following, otherwise, what fun would the story be?

LeeJ- hehe, ah the cliff hanger, huh?  Kinda like the old dime stories.

Hugs both - Susan
