" Good-bye Story "

Of all the things I could have said, " Good-bye ",
would be the last, if I'd have had a choice.
" Excuse me, but, there's something in my eyes,
and, seems I'm having trouble with my voice."

I could have talked at length about the cause,
if any that there was, you went away,
and, hoped something I said might give you pause,
but, that was then, now here, it is today.

I think about you often, and, regret,
that words which come so easy now, didn't then,.
Your memory remains with me as yet,
and helps make this transistion that it's been,

less difficult, my troubled voice says "Lie!",
could that be what's the matter with my eyes?

Sometimes the eyes just do what they want, regardless of what we tell them...I think they have a direct link to our emotion..and goodbye is not always easy.

As always, straight to the heart of the matter, in your own circuitous way. You're a doll. I say this in the only way that I know how, which is not meant to be offensive,on the contrary,I believe , by now,
how much respect I have for you and your writings would be obvious.

Makes me think of a relationship I once had - you brought me down memory lane - makes me wonder where he is today and hope things went well for him
