Wine, women, song,
and the nickels and dimes
don’t return with barrels of sense
or proportionately mammoth interest
on a too easy and simple investment.

But the days and the nights both bright
are flushed with the chase, the catch,
and the brow at the front of the line
sweats droplets of anticipation.

And life is good the prophet said
for to each comes the search, the feel,
till the time to decide turns the dial
to the lasting and meaningful.

There it sticks like a sun dial gone wrong
or a rain gauge turned upside down
but the prophet won’t say, at least not today,
whether rain is symbolic of pain
and if dark is a thing of the past.

And the prophet steps aside from the fray
saddened inside by the numbing of tongue
for to each comes the light when the timing is right
and to each the pain till love tips the scale!

Triple Wow...  I don't know what to say except I really like your thinking!
